SERVICES OFFERED:
Individual Counseling: Individuals of all ages can take part in the highest quality one-on-one counseling provided by a licensed counselor. This environment ensures complete privacy to work on some of the many issues individuals face; such as adjustment issues, relational issues, anxiety, stress management, grief and loss, depression, self-esteem, trauma, etc.
Couples Counseling: At some point in any relationship, issues arise that cause complications and interfere with what was once was a loving and committed relationship. Sometimes these relationships fail, but more often than not, they can be saved. Often times, the root of relationship issues comes down to a lack of communication that is tied to either one or both partner's inability to hear the other or their inability to communicate their wants, needs, and desires. Through counseling, couples can learn more about the dynamics of communication, the needs of their partner, and learn more about themselves.
Family Counseling: Family dynamics are very complicated. A family is a machine with many parts, hearts and minds. When families work as a team, this machine runs very well, but when they work at cross-purposes things get very complicated and confused. Families, like machines, break down without proper maintenance. Family counseling can help families who are not communicating properly, are working at cross-purposes, or are in some way dysfunctional. Family counseling is not about finding blame, but about finding ways to make changes to improve the situation for all.
Group Therapy: Therapy groups are offered, as needed, to reflect the needs of our clients. Groups are currently planned for children, adolescents, and adults on such issues as anxiety, depression, stress management, grief and loss, and recovery.
Interventions: There are times when no matter how hard you have tried to help someone, they continue to follow a path that can lead to destruction. Often times, loved ones will not know what to say or what to do in such a situation, or they will attempt to help the individual, but fail. Clinical interventions offer an opportunity to work with a clinical professional in order to effectively communicate with loved ones that there are issues that need to be resolved. With help from a professional, clients can learn to communicate their feelings in a non-threatening environment. Clients can learn ways to communicate so that they will be heard and learn how to better listen to others. Clients will learn how to communicate their needs and desires and set boundaries. Interventions are often a precursor to the loved one entering treatment.
Child/Adolescent Services: Growing up is not easy and we are not born with instruction sheets. Children often have issues as their bodies and minds continue to grow. Often times, issues of stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss as well as adjustment and behavior interfere with their everyday life, school or general performance. At CCC, children and adolescents can meet with a licensed counselor who is also a certified school counselor. Young people can learn ways to improve their current situation, find hope, and make lasting changes.
Outreach services: CCC understands that not every person is physically able to come to the office for services. When necessary, the clinical professional will go to the school, facility, or other location to meet the client. This service is especially useful for clients who are physically disabled or bedridden.
Referral Services: CCC offers many great services for clients, but one place can never offer everything a client needs. When necessary, we offer referrals to companies or organizations that are better prepared to help with a given situation (such as housing, heat or medical-related matters).
"Choose to be a Champion" Programming: Choose to be a Champion was developed in the 1990s in response to what was found lacking in many programs at the time. It was found that some of the current methods being used in working with children or adolescents (and later adults) were either outdated or failed to address some of the needs of those who were being treated. Choose to be a Champion was first used with clients who were in partial and hospital-based programs, many of whom had a history of violence and adjustment disorders. This program helped the client to learn more about the ramifications of their actions, other ways to deal with life and with other people, as well as how to see themselves in a better light. Using the metaphor of being a champion, clients were able to see that being successful did not involve violence or putting others down; instead success involved picking oneself up and being the best that they could be. Choose to be a Champion has been successfully used in in-patient, outpatient, partial hospital, school and individual counseling settings with children, adolescents, and adults. It has also been used in forensic and chemical dependency programs.
Public Awareness Seminars: Not everyone is in immediate need of therapy. However, most people are interested in learning more about relationships, adjustment, coping, stress, and related issues. Through a series of public seminars, CCC assists the public in learning more about themselves and others. Seminar themes have included: coping with stress; communicating with your lover; learning to cope with loss; how to reduce school violence; when love hurts-how to end an abusive relationship; how to know when your drinking or other drug use is leading or has lead to addiction; meeting your needs; plus many more.
Clinical Supervision: The Director of CCC, Dr. Warren Corson III, is an Approved Clinical Supervisor who has worked in the human services in many capacities since 1990. He offers clinical supervision to individuals who are pursuing certification and or licensure and well as to clinicians who are in private practice or otherwise need the services of a clinical supervisor.
Parents in Conflict (PIC): focuses on providing psycho-educational programming that teaches parents how to get past personal conflicts with each other in order to focus on the needs of their children. Though they have chosen not to be a couple, they must learn ways to work with each other in order to provide the guidance, nurturing and general needs of the children.
Parents learn ways to:
- Make better decisions for their children.
- Focus on the needs of children, not on the cause of their marital problems.
- Gain insight into the needs of children and how their behaviors affect their children both positively and negatively.
- Find solutions: We focus not on marital issues that lead to the separation, but on finding solutions to co-parenting issues.
Separating, breaking up or divorcing is tough on families. Couples who were never married go through many of the same issues as those who were; the main difference is that they often end the relationship without court involvement. Without court involvement, many couples never seek or are made aware of programming that can help them make the transitions necessary for positive parenting of their children. This can lead to years of needless arguing and conflict that is potentially damaging to children. Whether the parents were married or not, Parents in Conflict (PIC) can help.
Parents in Conflict is:
- Solution focused: We focus on ways to improve the communication of the parents so they can work together to meet the needs of the children.
- Focused on the here and now: We do not focus on the cause or reasons for divorce, our concern is to make a difference today, so that tomorrow can be better.
- Non Judgmental: We do not take sides in PIC; sessions are conducted with both parties present.
- Personalized: PIC is custom designed for each family in order to meet their specific needs.
- Flexible: PIC’s length varies according to need, usually 5-10 sessions.
- Ongoing: PIC offers additional services after completion if needed.
Court-Related Services: CCC does not actively solicit work in or with the court system, but does offer these services to clients, as needed. Please note that these services are NOT covered by insurance companies and are billed directly to the client. Payments are due in advance.
These services (depositions, planning meetings, preparation etc.) are billed at a daily rate of $3500.00 per representative, per day, plus expenses (parking, hotel- if court is more than 30 minutes from the office, food etc.) Reports/phone communications and related activities are billed by the hour. The hourly rate for court related activities is $350.00.
